FAQ’s

  • This largely depends on the care and use of the molds. If cared for properly, molds can be used dozens of times before beginning to degrade.

    There are many factors that determine how fast a mold degrades. Here are several things to take into consideration:

    - Heat wears moulds out. Using a torch on moulds will damage them. Please stay away from using heat on moulds!

    - Slow curing resins place greater stress on moulds.

    - Mould releases extend a mould's life.

    - Pouring thicker than the resin's recommended depth may damage moulds due to heat from the exothermic reaction.

    - Bubbles formed on the surface of a mould can scrape the molds during the demolding process. Please make sure that there are no bubbles on mould's surface.

    - Overstretching moulds might cause permanent damage to them.

  • Slow-curing or especially harsh resins can cause your moulds to deteriorate more quickly and may make them lose their clarity or become cloudy/white. For the best, longest-lasting results I recommend using a 1:1 ratio resin and following the resin manufacturer’s instructions. Please note that I cannot replace moulds that have turned white as a result of the resin used.

  • • Do NOT use a torch with your silicone moulds! Applying direct flame or intense heat will damage the surface of the mould and can cause your resin to permanently fuse with the silicone, ruining both the mould and your piece.
    • Moulds may not be suitable for use with a pressure pot — using one is at your own risk and could deform or shorten the life of the mould.
    • Moulds can be cleaned by using packing tape to lift away bits of cured resin or specks of dust and hair. If needed, you can also wash your moulds gently with mild soap and lukewarm water and let them air dry before reuse.

  • All moulds are handmade to order and the processing time for available mould designs is 1-3 weeks excluding weekends and holidays. 

  • We offer returns and exchanges on moulds with defects that are exclusively the fault of Cast Club Moulds. You must contact us within 7 days of receipt of your order to report a defect.
